Dollars for Denim

How to run a Workplace Campaign

  1. Ask your colleagues, employees or employer to participate in the Dollars for Denim Campaign (the downloadable Guide below contains sample letters). Explain that the Campaign occurs in April for Sexual Violence Awareness Month and culminates on Wednesday April 29, 2019. Ask them to make donations of $10, $20 for 2020 (or more!), wear jeans or denim clothing as a statement of solidarity against sexual violence, and share their support online.

  2. Communicate to your colleagues and workplace with an email invitation or direct message to participate in Dollars for Denim (the Guide also contains a sample email). Promote your own involvement and others by creating a post, flyer or video and display these on bulletin boards, the lunchroom any public space where people can view it, or share it where people can view it online.

  3. Collect the donations online (see the “Host Dollars for Denim online” for more information) or send a check(s) to Peace Over Violence or your local rape crisis center. If your workplace has a Donation Match Program, you can double your impact!
