Peace Over Violence believes that violence is preventable. If we can learn it, we can unlearn it. But we need everyone’s commitment to educating ourselves and others and work together to end rape culture - and we need you to start now!
THIS ACTION KIT IS WHERE IT ALL BEGINS. JOIN THE DENIM DAY MOVEMENT:
Commit to being an UPSTANDER, actively engaging in the eradication of rape culture while supporting survivors of sexual violence.
Register your participation at denimdayinfo.org.
Bring Denim Day to your community by organizing an event to distribute materials and talk to people about the movement.
Write about the movement to end sexual violence and share or publish it. Create a network of Denim Day participants in your community by asking five people to wear jeans on 4.24.19 and register their participation on denimdayinfo.org.
Distribute Denim Day posters on bulletin boards and public places and ask local businesses to post them.
Bring Denim Day materials and awareness to public meetings at your local neighborhood council, city council, PTA and school board meetings.
Ask your local library or community center to host a film screening and discussion. Need ideas? Try films like The Mask You Live In, The Hunting Ground or Audrey & Daisy.
Fundraise to help support Peace Over Violence or your local rape crisis center.
