We are on a mission to end sexual violence and to disrupt rape culture.

But we can’t do it without you. Wear jeans on purpose, with purpose! Join us for Denim Day on Wednesday, April 24th!

Learn More

Every two minutes, someone is sexually assaulted in America - and often the victim is blamed. The Denim Day campaign is designed to challenge all of us to change our thinking about sexual assault, relationship violence and rape, and to inspire everyone to prevent interpersonal violence in our homes, schools and communities.
— Patti Giggans, Denim Day Founder and Executive Director of Peace Over Violence

20 years of the Denim Day Effect

Thank you so much for your support of Denim Day for the past 20 years. Peace Over Violence has been in the forefront of naming, intervening and preventing sexual violence since 1971, the early days of the anti-rape movement. For the past  two decades, our message has grown louder, our impact became even more profound. Together with your help, we will continue to affect positive social change as we support crucial healing services for survivors of sexual violence. With you, we will continue to raise awareness and dispel myths about sexual violence, harassment, assault and rape.

This action kit will give you all the tools necessary for you to become a valued partner, a member of the Denim Day movement and as such you will help spread the word that April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month and organize your own Denim Day!

Thank you for joining the tens of millions of people that have participated by wearing jeans on purpose, with purpose since 1999!
